About Me
Hi! I'm Lei Lydle! My first name is pronounced "Lee". I am a Georgia native, a proud Mother, a UX Strategist/Designer/Developer/Product Manager, an entrepreneur and a Rotarian! I attended both Art and Business School at UGA and graduated with a BBA in Risk Management. I became interested in web design about a year after I graduated and initially taught myself everything I needed to land an agency job as a Web Developer at iXL, Inc. in Atlanta. Throughout the years, I have worked tirelessly to learn all aspects of the web-based product design & development business and grew in the Atlanta technology community. I specialize in WCAG accessibility and all aspects of product management and user experience design including UI design, interaction design, usability testing, UX Engineering, competitive research, product roadmap and more. I have managed both large and small teams, as well as large and small projects, and I enjoy mentoring budding user experience designers, QA testers and developers. In 1998, I founded a wedding planning website for the Atlanta area, AtlantaBridal, and that site is still popular in 2023 with thousands of unique users year after year!
Volunteer Service
My passion for serving the community began at a young age, thanks to my parents' guidance. One of our family traditions was adopting a family in need at Christmas and delivering them an entire Christmas on Christmas Eve. Witnessing the joy this brought to these families really taught me the value of giving back.
As I grew older, I continued to pursue opportunities to serve. In my teenage years, I volunteered as a candy striper at the hospital, worked with the local Special Olympics, and served as a page at the State Capitol. During college, I served as a volunteer tutor for local elementary children, acted as a tour guide for a local fundraiser, and held several leadership roles within my sorority - including Treasurer, Assistant Treasurer and Intramural Sports Coordinator.
As an adult, I have dedicated countless hours to volunteering at my children's schools. For several years, I was the Chair of the Brides Against Breast Cancer Charity Wedding Gown Sale in Atlanta which raised hundreds of thousands of dollars to help terminal breast cancer patients. In 2020, I joined Rotary which has offered many opportunities for giving back. Within Rotary I have served 2 years on the Dragon Boat Festival Committee and 1 year on the Board as the Director of New Generations.
Currently, I am honored to serve as the Rotary Sponsor for the McIntosh High School Interact Club and as Treasurer for the McIntosh High School Boy's Lacrosse Booster Club. Giving back to the community has always been an essential part of my life, and I'm grateful for every opportunity to continue making a difference.
Honors & Awards
On November 10, 2023 I had the incredible honor of receiving the 2023 Key Innovator Award at CsS Services, Inc.'s end-of-year event. I am truly humbled and grateful for the opportunity to be part of the product design and development team for our SaaS product. Working with such a talented group has been an inspiring journey, and this award is a reflection of our collective efforts.
In June of 2021, I was honored to receive the Rookie of the Year Award from the Rotary Club of Peachtree City for the 2020-2021 year. After winning that award, I was asked to serve on the Board of the Club as the Director of New Generations which I did for the 2021-2022 year.
As Director of New Generations, I helped to rebuild the McIntosh High School Interact Club which had dwindled due to Covid. With my direction, the students pulled off a huge fundraising event and were able to donate $1,500 to a local literacy charity. We even made it into The Citizen, a local news outlet. You can read that here.
After serving on the Board, I have stayed on as the McIntosh High School Interact Club Rotary Sponsor overseeing all of the club's service projects which have included a Coat & Clothing Drive, a Toiletry Kit Drive for homeless/foster teens and our annual literacy event which includes a book drive and a fundraiser.
And many moons ago, I was nominated for the Wedding Visionary of the Year Award by the Professional Wedding Guild of Atlanta for technology I created for the Atlanta wedding industry. I didn't win but was honored to be 1 of 3 nominated out of hundreds.
Public Persona
Speaking Engagements
In November 2004, I spoke at the Association of Bridal Consultants National Convention on the topic of marketing through the Internet to today's technologically savvy brides. My breakout course was extremely popular and, since then, I have been asked to speak at numerous wedding industry events and educational seminars throughout the Southeast. Between 2005 and 2010, I traveled and spoke to numerous groups of wedding and event professionals in Nashville, Chattanooga, Birmingham, Athens and Atlanta.
In 2011, I was a panel expert at the Inspire Smart Success Experience Seminar in Atlanta hosted by Stacie Francombe, best known as the founder of Get Married.
In 2013, I was asked to speak at the Wedding Market Expo in Atlanta. I taught a lunch and learn on the importance of having a mobile website and was a panel expert during the event.
